What Your Content Has Been Subtweeting Your Brand All Year

Before you write one more “new year, new content strategy” list, I want you to listen to the content you already created in 2025.

Because whether you meant to or not, your content has been subtweeting your brand all year.

Not just your branding—the fonts and colors.
Your brand: the story people tell about you when you’re not in the room.

This week, instead of jumping into a new plan, I want you to do something quieter and much more honest:

Let your own content tell you who you’ve been.
Step 1: Pull your receipts (5-10 minutes)Set a 10–15 minute timer and gather:
  • Your 3 most‑saved or most‑shared posts
  • Your 3 most‑replied‑to emails or messages
  • A handful of DMs or comments where people asked for your help

Don’t curate it to look good.
Just grab what actually happened. This is your 2025 brand document, whether you meant it to be or not.

Step 2: Ask, “What are people coming to me for?” (10–15 minutes)Look at that pile and ask yourself:
  • What are people consistently asking me about?
  • What problems are they naming in their own words?
  • Where am I giving the same explanation or pep talk on repeat?

Those patterns? That’s your
current personal brand.
It’s the role you’ve been playing in people’s stories, even on the days you felt “inconsistent.”

You might notice:
  • “Oh, they always come to me when they feel like they’re pivoting.”
  • “Oh, they trust me with the vulnerable, messy, behind‑the‑scenes stuff.”
  • “Oh, they see me as the person who can name the thing they couldn’t articulate.”
That’s real data.

Step 3: Notice where you felt most like you (10–15 minutes)Now put the metrics aside and check in with your body.
For each piece, ask:
  • Where did I feel most in my voice?
  • Where did I feel like I was performing a version of me I’ve outgrown?
  • Which pieces would I happily talk about for the next 3 years?

This is where your
aliveness data meets your audience data.
Your 2026 brand sweet spot sits in the overlap.

Step 4: Decide what you want to amplify vs. retire (10–15 minutes)Based on what you’ve just seen:
  • What do you want to double down on in 2026?
  • What do you want to be less known for?
  • Where is your content attracting work you don’t actually want anymore?

You’re allowed to say:
“That’s not my story anymore.” Your personal brand is not a fixed persona or a perfectly curated grid. It’s a living relationship between who you are now and the people paying attention. This isn’t about inventing a new character for 2026. It’s about realigning your messaging with the most current truth of you.

If you want help decoding the patterns

Sometimes this exercise is clarifying. Sometimes it’s a little confronting.

You realize:
  • “Oh, I’m being read as ‘the reliable service provider’ when I’m actually stepping into thought leadership.”
  • “Oh, my content is still speaking in the voice of 2022 me, not who I am now.”
  • “Oh, there’s a bolder, more honest side of me trying to come through and I’ve been softening it.”

In
Magic Hours this month, we’re doing this work together:
  • You bring a handful of your 2025 posts, emails, or DMs
  • We look at the patterns with clear eyes and zero shame
  • We translate them into a clear and prioritized messaging roadmap to get you on the right track for a smooth and intentional journey in 2026.

If your content has been talking about you all year and you’re not sure you like what it’s saying, Magic Hours is where we rewrite that story on purpose.
