You can do all the marketing in the world, but if your sales page doesn't sell...all your efforts could fall flat.

So when I have a client that says, I just want to put out some ads right now, or I'm going to focus on email marketing only for now, I always check their sales page, the page that their customers will be landing on at the other end of the ad or email.

If it needs some work, I will suggest that we improve the sales page first to ensure we're putting our best foot forward.

So, here are tips for making sure your sales page is doing what it's meant to do...sell.
Your product and a general description alone are not enough to persuade folks to buy your product or service. They need to know who you are, what sets you and your product apart. Why should they buy your product as opposed to other similar products.

If your product or service has a lot of competitors, it's going to come down to who you are as a brand.

Consider these tips as your write your or review your sales page. Are each of these things clear on your sales page?

Know your audience inside and out

The better you know your audience, the better you can connect with them through your words and messaging. If your copy is generic, and isn't really targeted to any one person, then you're less likely to connect with folks. That means they're less likely to buy from you.

The way you show them you know them is by addressing their fears, concerns, and challenges; but also their dreams, aspirations, and goals.

When you know your audience and it's clear through your copy, your target audience will feel like you're speaking directly to them.

Write a clear value proposition.

The value of your product or service isn't about it's price tag. It's about how your product or service enhances your customers lives and provides a solution to their problems. Speak to the benefits, what sets you and your product/service apart, and again...show them you know them.

Address Objections

Consider why your audience may object to purchasing at this time, and address those objections. Maybe it's price, maybe it's timing, maybe it's something else. Know what may hold them back and don't be afraid to let them know that you know why they may resist your offer. Reassure them and be totally transparent.

Amplify your authority.

Share testimonials, stats, or other social proof that will boost your credibility and build trust.

Write a clear Call to Action.

No matter how obvious you may think it is, make sure you tell your audience exactly what you want them to do.

And make sure your CTA is easy to find! Nothin' worse than digging through a sales page to find the "Buy" button!

Tell a story.

Possibly the most important tip for engaging your audience is this tip. I love writing Sales Pages, because it's storytelling. When you look at your sales page, it should flow from section to section, read like a story, and tell a story.

Storytelling is how we connect with others emotionally. It's how we get people's attention, and it's how they remember us. Storytelling is also a great way to communicate our values, who we are, and what we offer.

These are just a few of the most important things to keep in mind. If you're looking for fresh eyes to take a look at your sales page, contact me for a free consult.
